Farnworth Rose Shortlisted For National Award

Farnworth Rose Solicitors has been shortlisted in the Outstanding Commitment To Training category at the Modern Law Conveyancing Awards.

The firm, which employs 28 people at offices in Nelson and Barrowford, will be competing against seven other law firms from around the country. The winner will be announced at a black-tie ceremony in November.

The award submission covered a wide range of areas relating to the firm’s investment in staff training and development, including in house training, formal external qualifications and apprenticeships. Earlier this year the business launched an internal training academy specifically designed to take support staff with little or no conveyancing experience and provide them with the knowledge required to provide comprehensive administrative support to the team.

The course content was created by the firm’s Head of Conveyancing and is delivered face to face once a month by a senior member of staff who is an expert in the relevant subject.

Emma Moore, Head of Conveyancing commented:

“We are thrilled to have been shortlisted for this award and to be recognised for the work we have undertaken over the last 12 months to improve all aspects of our training programmes. As a business we are already reaping the rewards through improved knowledge, skills and staff retention but to win the award would be an amazing achievement, especially up against some very large national firms.”

Sophie Holdsworth, Operation Manager added:

“As someone who joined the firm as an apprentice I understand the benefit being in a forwarding thinking work place. We’ve spent a great deal of time ensuring that we are supporting employees at all levels and identifying training needs. Due to level of compliance involved in the legal sector we constantly need to keep all staff up to date on risk management issues, regardless of their experience and we have found some creative solutions to ensure our training is both current and engaging.”

The awards ceremony takes place on Thursday 24th November at the Rum Warehouse in Liverpool.
