Lois attends Residence Nil Rate Band Seminar
Here at Farnworth Rose training is very important to us so we are able to bring you up to date developments in the law in order to provide the best service to our clients. Our newest member of the team Lois Dixon recently attended a seminar in Preston hosted by the private client guru, Lesley King. Lois was keen to keep up to date of the reliefs available on death. Lesley King discussed the positive aspects of this newest relief introduced in 2017.The residence nil rate band is available to individuals provided the property is left through a Will or intestacy to children or direct descendants. The amount available for this tax year 19/20 is £150,000.00 per person and this is available to be used against the value of the property. This greatly benefits estates that fall into the inheritance tax bracket. It is important to review any wills made before 2017 to ensure they are compliant with this relief. We can also draft wills to take full advantage of this relief.
