New Vacancy: Legal Cashier

Part time – 9am – 3pm Monday – Friday

A well-established and growing law firm are currently looking to recruit a Legal Cashier to join their team, working alongside the fee earners to provide an efficient service to clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Analysing client account ledgers, fees and costs
  • Maintain CHAPS/Faster Payments templates for all payees
  • Keying of payments into the bank
  • Notifying staff of payments received on a daily basis
  • Liaising with fee earners to clear all applicable balances
  • Ensuring all client balances are monitored and dealt with in atimely manner
  • Reporting balances to the relevant person
  • Posting of invoices, receipts, payments and transfers on our casemanagement system
  • Bank reconciliation
  • Dealing with out-of-date cheques
  • Banking and processing of cheques into office/client accounts
  • Checking completion statements for conveyancing fee earners precompletion
  • Dealing with incoming and outgoing transfers
  • Arranging client to office account transfers when necessary
  • Reporting on aged debtors and ensuring that these are kept to aminimum and chased up where necessary
  • Reporting on matter balances on a weekly basis
  • Keeping knowledge up to date of the Solicitors Accounts Rules

Experience Required:

  • Solid working knowledge of The Solicitor’s Accounting Rules (SAR)
  • Experience working within a legal firm
  • Experience in both office and client accounts
  • Experience in using case management systems
  • Good knowledge of Excel
  • Organised and accurate, with the ability to deal with a high volumeof work
  • Attentionto detail
