Fundraiser number four is another big success

The Farnworth Rose team added over £180 to their Pendleside Hospice fundraising total on Saturday, by hosting a jar tombola at the Giant Leap Childcare & Learning Centre summer fair.As a celebration of our tenth year in business, we are completing ten different fundraisers here at Farnworth Rose with all the proceeds going to the Pendleside Hospice, the charity of our choice.Just over a month after completing the Pendle Pub Walk, the Farnworth Rose team were out in full force once again this time at the Giant Leap Childcare and Learning Centre in Burnley.Once the stall was set up, the team proceeded to complete the task of selling the 100 filled jars which had been kindly been put together by many of the Farnworth Rose staff members. The floodgates soon opened with many people flocking to the stall for the chance of winning some of the great prizes on offer! At 12:30 pm, only two and a half hours after the summer fair began, all the jars had been claimed. Thanks to a few additional generous donations, the Farnworth Rose team were able to raise a brilliant £182.55 for the Pendleside Hospice. As a result of the money raised on Saturday, the grand total raised by the 'Farny Army' currently stands at £1,414.94, just shy of £585 away from the £2,000 target. And with many upcoming fundraisers on the way, it looks like it would be a safe bet for us to smash through the £2,000 target and raise even more money for the Pendleside Hospice.

A few words from our director

'It is always greatly satisfying to be able to raise money for Pendleside Hospice, a charity which means an awful lot to a lot of us at Farnworth Rose and many more in the local area.'A massive thanks to all those who turned up on Saturday and donated to our cause, we wouldn't be meeting and beating our targets if it wasn't for you. Here's to the next fundraiser!'Janet LalorDirector at Farnworth Rose
