Farnworth Rose aim to become dementia friendly

At Farnworth Rose, we are delighted to be taking steps to become a dementia friendly law firm through the Alzheimer’s Society.The Alzheimer’s Society’s Dementia Friends programme encourages anyone to learn more about dementia and the ways in which they can help someone living with dementia.As this week is Dementia Action Week, the Alzheimer’s Society is encouraging everyone to get involved by learning more about dementia.

A dementia friendly team at Farnworth Rose

Here at Farnworth Rose, 14 members of the team are now trained as dementia friends.Amanda Coates, Wills and Probate solicitor at Farnworth Rose, is also qualified as a Dementia Friends Champion.As a Dementia Friends Champion, Amanda also has the knowledge to provide information to others on the impact of dementia and what they can do to help those living with dementia.At Farnworth Rose, we believe it is vital that our team has the knowledge to provide the right advice and support to everybody we work with.

Over 2.5 million Dementia Friends in the UK

There are now over 2.5 million Dementia Friends in the UK with the Alzheimer’s Society aiming to create 4 million by 2020.Research carried out by the Alzheimer’s Society shows that two-thirds of people with dementia feel isolated or lonely. Their goal is to ensure that communities are created in which those living with dementia can feel included and understood.You can sign up to become a dementia friend here.
