Charity Golf Day for local hospice is a hole-in-one!
A charity golf day organised by Lancashire law firm Farnworth Rose has helped raise money for the Pendleside Hospice.At the picturesque Nelson Golf Club teams from businesses in the local area teed up to compete for the 'Serious Hackers Invitational Trophy'.Representatives from Farnworth Rose, Mortgage 65, McParland & Partners and Petty Estate Agents were able to raise £1,070 for the Pendleside Hospice.The day involved a range of competitions including a 'Beat the Pro', where a £5 charity donation offered players the chance to find out if they had the skill to beat the shot of a local PGA Professional.Eventually a team from Farnworth Rose, including Director Richard Farnworth, defended their title and took home the 'Serious Hackers Invitational Trophy' for a third year in succession.As the evening got into full swing the golfers were joined by clients and colleagues who helped build the final amount raised with kind donations and a charity auction.Richard Farnworth, Director at Farnworth Rose based in Nelson and Barrowford, said: 'We'd like to say a big thank you to everyone who took part in the event for making it such a great day.'We are delighted to raise money for the Pendleside Hospice with the great help of everyone from Mortgage 65, McParland and Partners and Petty Estate Agents.â?
Raising money for a great local cause
Most of us who live in the Burnley and Pendle area will at some point have been grateful for the quality of care provided for loved ones by Pendleside Hospice.Since the Hospice was opened in 1997, thousands of local people have continued to benefit from the support of Pendleside Hospice. Through continued fundraising they now offer day therapy, specialist physiotherapy, complementary therapies, inpatient care, 24/7 hospice at home, counselling, bereavement support and spiritual care.Currently, the Hospice costs £3.8 million per year to run and the majority of the funds which allow them to continue to carry out their exceptional work is raised locally.That is why we were delighted to be raising money for such a fantastic cause.
