Residential Conveyancing

Our conveyancing team are members of the Law Society’s Quality Conveyancing Scheme (QCS) – a recognised quality standard for residential conveyancing practices.

We have four members in the department who are able to act for you, all supervised by Director Janet Lalor who has over 30 years of experience in residential conveyancing.

Helen Harkley – Chartered Legal Executive

Helen Harkley is a Chartered Legal Executive and a key member of the Farnworth Rose team.

Helen has worked in conveyancing since 2001 and qualified as a Chartered Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives in 2010. She has since handled more than a thousand cases concerning sales and purchases, re-mortgages and transfers of equity.

Nina Barlow – Solicitor

Nina qualified as a solicitor in 2015 after gaining an LLB (Hons) degree from Northumbria University.

She has spent 5 years working within Residential Conveyancing advising thousands of clients in areas including Help to Buy purchases, new build purchases, re-mortgages, agricultural property and unregistered land.

Emma Moore – Conveyancing Executive

Emma Moore is a Chartered Legal Executive at Farnworth Rose. She is a Graduate Member of CILEx after graduating with a First Class Law Degree whilst working full time with the firm.

Emma now handles the conveyancing for clients on sales and purchase transactions including freehold, leasehold, registered and unregistered title, transfer of equity and remortgages.

Elizabeth Holden – Solicitor

Elizabeth qualified as a Solicitor in 1995 and has extensive experience of both residential and commercial property matters.

She worked as head of conveyancing at her previous firm and adds a great deal of knowledge to the Farnworth Rose residential and commercial property teams.

Commercial Property

At Farnworth Rose, our experienced commercial property team has advised businesses and landlords across Lancashire and the North West.

Richard Farnworth – Director

Richard Farnworth is a Director and the founder of Farnworth Rose. Richard qualified as a solicitor in 1981 and held the post of senior partner at his previous firm for 17 years.

Richard is an expert in the commercial property area, acting for large companies and small businesses alike providing advice on buying and selling commercial property and advising on commercial leases.

Elizabeth Holden – Solicitor

Elizabeth qualified as a Solicitor in 1995 and has extensive experience of both residential and commercial property matters.

She worked as head of conveyancing at her previous firm and adds a great deal of knowledge to the Farnworth Rose residential and commercial property teams.

Wills, Probate and Lasting Powers of Attorney

We have two members in the department who are able to act for you, both supervised by Director Janet Lalor who has over 30 years of experience in private client matters.

Lois Dixon – Solicitor

Lois has worked in the legal sector as a fee earner since 2012. She qualified as a solicitor in 2016 after gaining an LLB (Hons) degree from Leeds Metropolitan University and doing her Legal Practice Course at Manchester Metropolitan University.

Lois started her legal career in Litigation before moving into Private Client matters and is experienced in advising upon Wills, Probate and Lasting Powers of Attorney.

Charlotte Ormerod – Paralegal

Charlotte joined Farnworth Rose in 2018 and has been working in the legal sector since 2015 following the completion of her LLB Law (Hons) degree, which she studied at Edge Hill University.

Family & Divorce Law

Craig J Baldwin – Director

Craig J Baldwin heads up the family law division at Farnworth Rose. Having qualified as a solicitor in 1984, Craig has spent 35 years’ helping people achieve real and workable solutions to family disputes after an unfortunate relationship breakdown.

Thousands of clients have already benefited from the practicable solutions provided by Craig, helping people see the way forward in the unfortunate event of a breakdown in marital and family relationships.

Craig is a member of the Family Law Accreditation and provides advice in all aspects of family law including divorce, cohabitation disputes, Schedule 1 Act Children Applications, ancillary relief, inheritance issues and prenuptial agreements.

Employment Law

Steve Gee – Solicitor

Steve Gee is an expert HR and employment law solicitor at Farnworth Rose, offering qualified advice on contentious and non-contentious aspects of the employer, employee relationship.

Steve qualified as a solicitor in 2007 and has now gained 11 years’ experience advising both employers and employees on disciplinary and grievance issues, unfair and/or wrongful dismissal, redundancies, long term sickness absence, termination agreements, rights of employees and claims in the Employment Tribunal.

Having worked in the manufacturing industry up to Board level, prior to becoming a solicitor, Steve has an extensive understanding of the day to day issues faced by both employers and employees and the workings of HR and employment law in the workplace.
