Alzheimer’s Society Launch Free Will Scheme

From 16th May 2022 The Alzheimer’s Society are offering simple Wills completely free of charge through Farnworth Rose Solicitors.

Dementia is responsible for more deaths in the UK than any other condition and somebody develops dementia every three minutes. At this moment, there are over 900,000 people in the UK living with dementia, with this number set to increase significantly in the near future.

Whilst the charity hope that people will support them through legacy gifts there is no obligation to do. There is no age limit on the scheme and it is available throughout the year.

With a gift in your Will, you can help scientists build on the accumulated knowledge of the last 40 years and carry out the painstaking work that has the potential to transform the lives of people living with dementia, now and in the future. You will also be helping to maintain and develop the extensive range of support services for people living with dementia and their families.

Lois Dixon, Solicitor at Farnworth Rose commented:

“The Alzheimer’s Society is such an important charity and one that will no doubt be even more prominent in the future as the number of people living with dementia increases.

Our department recently undertook Dementia Friend training which was a real eye opener for us and improved our understanding of the affects of dementia and the steps we can all take to assist people. We’re delighted to be taking part in this scheme and look forward to assisting more clients in planning for the future.”

Dementia Action Week runs from 16-22 May 2022 and is The Alzheimer's Society's biggest and longest running awareness campaign. This year’s campaign theme is diagnosis.
